Big Adventures, Little World

Last night saw the TITANS take out the Men’s B Grade Championship at Ingle Farm Recreation Centre. In a low scoring affair the Titans took an early lead, but the Wolfpack fought back to take the lead half way through the second half. The Titans pressed on and with tough defence regained the lead and went on to win the game by about 10 points. Full credit to the Wolfpack who were the only team to defeat us all year. Big thank you’s go out to all the people who came out to support the Titans and yelled and screamed which no doubt conributed to the way we played.

After the game the party continued at Rohan, Jay & Levi’s house with many drinks drunk, including the win being toasted with Jagerbombs. 8-ball, darts and PS3 were also on the cards and by morning we were all a little worse for wear, but no doubt still excited about the win.

The Titans are playing in the Grand Final on Monday the 23rd of July at 8.30pm at Ingle Farm Recreation Centre. Get out and support you local sporting team! See ya there!

Monday night saw the mighty Titans prevail in the Preliminary Final to advance to the Grand Final next Monday night. The game got off to a slow start but after a time out the Titans picked up their running game and continued on to not look back from there. They went on to win 44-27.

The Grand Final is to be held on the 23rd of June at Ingle Farm Recreation Centre. Game time is unknown at the moment but will be posted as soon as it is known. We will be playing Wolfpack, who beat us in the semi final by only a couple of points, so we will be looking for our revenge. It would be great to see everyone out there to help get the Titans over the line and win the championship! And don’t forget to REMEMBER THE TITANS!

Monday saw the return to a music festival for me and the gang, where we headed to The Shores Complex for the We Love Sounds festival. What a day it is was, with a few drinks and hot chips before hand at my house before heading down to The Shores about 2.30pm just in time to catch Mix Master Mike mixing up a storm. He was awesome to see play and for me, was the main attraction in going. Another big act was the Utah Saints which was even more spectacular. Other great acts were Tommy Trash, Alix Perez & Princess Superstar.

The day continued on through into the night with us partying hard and then more so at the after party at Electric Circus. Although it was a great night, we were all tired and started to make our way home around midnight for some much needed sleep, especially for those of us who had to work.

A while ago I got Band of Brothers on DVD and it has only been until now, when I have had some time, that I have watched. I should have watched it sooner. It is an amazing TV series and is really mind blowing some of the events that happened during the second World War. Watching it also makes me want to go to war, but not for the fighting and death or anything like that, far from it. I love  the tactics and strategies of war, the discipline that is shown and the amount of respect that most people had for each other there.

All I can really say is that you have to watch it to really know what I am talking about, but it is worth every second of it. If you have a chance to see this, don’t hesitate.
